Where did Paul's new converts come from before they entered salvation?

Paul's new converts came from the gross idolatry, mythology, and immorality of the pagan world where he labored, a culture devoted to worshiping gods and goddesses and marked by license. They entered salvation directly out of that pagan environment, not from a background saturated in Christianity or moral restraint.

Les teaches that as he retraced the Mediterranean area where Paul labored, he saw the gross idolatry and gross mythology of those places. Paul earned his converts out of that gross, immoral, pagan world and was constantly subjected to its immorality, yet he never slowed down or stopped proclaiming the gospel. His new converts came out of the license and immorality of pagan worship of gods and goddesses into a salvation experience, and almost immediately had to be martyred for their faith. They had not been saturated for fifty years in Christianity.
