Les Feldick Bible Study

What is a believer's position after salvation, and what does God then do?

After salvation, the believer's position is that of a born-one and a full-grown son, no longer a servant, slave, or minor under tutors, but in full partnership with the Father. Immediately God sends the Spirit of His Son into the believer's heart, enabling the believer to call Him Abba, Father.

Les teaches that believers now have the full privilege of approaching God as their Heavenly Father, while the unsaved world cannot accomplish that. Believers can come right into the throne room and call Him Father, bringing all their petitions, not on their own merit but because of the finished work of the cross. Their position now is as born ones because of salvation, and then immediately God does the doing by sending forth the Spirit of His Son into their hearts. In response, through the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit, they have every right to call Him Abba, Father. Later, Paul's "wherefore" shows that because of all this, the believer is no more a servant or slave, not even a little child under tutors, but a son, a full-blown son, in full partnership with the Father.

Galatians 4:6

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
