Why do we enter into salvation by faith plus nothing?
We enter salvation by faith plus nothing because the Law has been fully satisfied and paid in full through the work of the Cross. The Law has done its job, been crucified, and taken off the scene. Therefore children of God become so by faith in the finished work of Christ, not by keeping the Law.
Les explains that the Law was satisfied and completely paid in full through the work of the Cross, so now believers enter in by faith plus nothing. The Law has done its job, been crucified, and is off the scene, all in the predetermined counsel of God. In Galatians 3, becoming children of God is by faith in Christ Jesus, not by keeping the Law. Les notes that many so-called Christians try to add required works, but this verse includes none of that. We become children of God by one thing alone—faith in the finished work of Christ. For Paul, faith in Christ means the finished work of redemption: Christ died, was buried, and rose again.
