Was God's covenant promise to Abraham physical or spiritual?

The covenant promise made to Abraham was spiritual. It never left the hands of spiritual beings; it was heavenly in origin. Abraham became the subject of it but could not touch or change it. Even though his offspring broke it, God kept it settled and will not go back on it.

Les explains that the covenant promise to Abraham was spiritual, never leaving the hands of spiritual beings. It was heavenly in origin, and Abraham was merely its subject—he could not touch or change it. Even though his offspring repeatedly broke it, God kept it settled and will never go back on it. Therefore God is not through with Israel; He will finish and fulfill those covenant promises. Les also notes that a mediator is not for one party, but God is one—He is mediator, instigator, and fulfiller, alone involved.

Galatians 3:19

Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
