Les Feldick Bible Study

What does the Law give us knowledge of?

The Law gives knowledge of sin. It was given not to help people do right, but to stop every mouth and show all the world guilty before God, revealing how far mankind falls short of God's standard, because no one can keep the Ten Commandments.

Les teaches that the Law was given for only one purpose: to show mankind how far they fell short of God's standard. Only Israel was put under the Law, but its convicting power went out to the whole human race. Scripture says every mouth may be stopped, and all the world is made guilty before God. Therefore, by the deeds of the Law no flesh can be saved or justified in His sight, because by the Law is the knowledge of sin. Most people think the Law was given to help people do right, but Les explains that the Law can do nothing but convict a person of their utter sinfulness.

Romans 3:20

Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
