Through whom did the Abrahamic covenant promise say the Messiah would come?

The Abrahamic covenant promise specified that the Messiah would come through Isaac, not Ishmael, and then through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the twelve sons. Scripture identifies that singular seed as Christ, through whom all the world would be blessed. This is the covenant line.

Les explains that the constant promise of the Abrahamic covenants ran through Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and the twelve sons, not through Ishmael. He points out that the singular seed is Isaac in the immediate line, and Galatians 3:16 goes on to say that seed is Christ. The Muslim world disputes this and claims Ishmael was the promised seed, but the Bible says it was through Isaac that the seed, singular, would come. Paul writes that to Abraham and his seed were the promises made, not to many seeds but to one seed, Christ, so all people benefit from the Abrahamic covenant and are blessed through it.

Genesis 21:12

And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
