What is the sole purpose of God creating mankind?

God created mankind for the sole purpose of having someone with whom He can fellowship and to whom He can extend love for all eternity. By giving man a will, man can choose obedience to his Creator, and that loving relationship fulfills the purpose behind mankind's creation.

Les explains that God already had myriads of angels, but the angels were never beings with whom He could fellowship or have love extended and love returned. Mankind is the crowning act of creation, made in God’s image and given a will. Adam was created sinless and perfect, with body, soul, and spirit in fellowship with God. The sole purpose is that by man choosing obedience to his Creator, God has someone He can fellowship with and extend love to for all eternity. The whole concept is likened to the attitude of marriage in the human relationship.
