What did Christ accomplish on the cross as the seed of the woman?

By finishing the work of the cross as the promised seed of the woman, Christ defeated Satan and made him powerless. Though Satan bruised His heel and caused Him suffering, the cross accomplished the victory over Satan, fulfilling the Genesis 3:15 promise that the woman’s seed would bruise his head.

Les explains that in Genesis 3:15 God is speaking to Satan and declares enmity between Satan and the woman, and between Satan’s seed and her seed. The seed of the woman would bruise Satan’s head. When Christ finished the work of the cross as the seed of the woman, He defeated Satan and made him powerless. Yet Satan would bruise His heel, getting his licks in by making Him suffer. This verse is the beginning of the promise that the seed would come through the female side of the human race, not from Adam but from the woman, and that promise is followed through Scripture.

Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
