How clear is the Bible's teaching that believers are delivered from the Law?
Scripture presents the believer's deliverance from the Law as very clear and simple. Romans 7 states that Grace Age believers are delivered from the Law. The Holy Spirit, not the Ten Commandments, becomes the guideline, and even a sixth grader can read and understand this truth.
Les explains that not only do we not have to keep the Law, but as a result of our salvation experience, God gives us something far better than the Ten Commandments—the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit becomes our guideline, not the Ten Commandments. He clarifies that saying we are not under the Law does not mean ignoring that it is wrong to kill, steal, and commit adultery, because the Holy Spirit will show us those things. Les points back to Romans chapter 7, saying Grace Age believers are delivered from the Law, and notes that people cannot see it even though it is so simple that a sixth grader can read it.
