How did God bring salvation to the pagan world without Israel?
God brought salvation to the pagan world by going directly to them with the message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, not through Israel as a go-between. When Israel rejected the Messiah and fell, Gentiles still received the blessing of Abraham immediately in Christ, without waiting for Israel.
Les explains that Israel was originally given the opportunity to be a Kingdom of Priests to the Gentile world, as God offered at Sinai in Exodus 19. Every Jew could have been a go-between between the Gentile world and their God. But when Israel rejected the Messiah, she fell out of the picture and dropped the ball, rejecting that glorious opportunity. Yet God did not stop. Les teaches that Paul can now write in Galatians 3:14 that Gentiles have received the blessing of Abraham, not through Israel, but directly through the Lord Jesus Christ, immediately. They do not have to wait for Israel to get her act together or for a Jew to come to their community with the knowledge of God. God did something totally different: He went straight to the pagan world with the message of salvation without Israel as a go-between.
