What makes someone a Jew according to this teaching?
According to this teaching, a Jew is a Jew first and foremost by birth, genetics, and bloodline, and also by being an adherent of Judaism and keeping the Law. A Gentile remains a Gentile; even a saved Gentile is a sinner Gentile saved by grace, not a Jew.
Les teaches that many have been told becoming a Christian makes them a Jew, but he says that is way out in left field. He explains that a Jew is a Jew by virtue first and foremost of birth, genetics, and bloodline, and also by being an adherent of Judaism and keeping the Law. A Gentile is a Gentile, and if saved, is simply a sinner Gentile saved by grace—not a Jew. Galatians 3:7’s statement that those of faith are the children or sons of Abraham means believers are spiritually connected to Abraham by faith plus nothing, not that they become Jews.
