What place of privilege and blessing do the Gentile nations have now that Israel had in the Old Testament?
The Gentile nations now occupy Israel’s former place of privilege and blessing: the opportunity to hear the Gospel and be saved. Like Israel rested on Abraham’s root and fatness, Gentiles have equal opportunity. Not every Gentile will be saved, but each is responsible and cannot claim they never had a chance.
Les teaches that the whole Gentile world now stands in the place of privilege and blessing that Israel enjoyed all through the Old Testament. Gentiles are not automatically saved by that position, just as not every Jew who rested on the root and fatness of Abraham was a believer. Every Gentile has the opportunity to hear the Gospel and be saved. Those who refuse will be held responsible at the great white throne and cannot say they never had a chance. Christ died for all sins, and every human being has been declared reconciled and pardoned so far as God is concerned, but it is all for nothing until they appropriate it by the kind of simple faith Abraham had. God does not require knowing the Bible from cover to cover or a primary example of holy living before He saves.
