What was Abraham promised about the seed of the woman?

Abraham was promised that the seed of the woman—the one who would defeat sin, death, and Satan—would come through his lineage, through the nation of Israel. And in Abraham all families of the earth would be blessed, primarily through Christ.

Les teaches that Genesis records God's promise to Adam that the seed of the woman would one day defeat sin, death, and Satan. Abraham then is given the promise that this same seed would come through his lineage, through the nation of Israel. That Abrahamic covenant becomes the foundation of everything leading into the New Testament, the appearance of Christ, His earthly ministry, His rejection by Israel, and the Church Age after the conversion of Saul of Tarsus. Les explains that all foundations of faith—both the how and the why—rest on what God promised Abraham. The last part of the Abrahamic covenant was that in Abraham all families of the earth would be blessed, primarily through Christ, the seed of the woman coming through the seed of Abraham. This also ties to what God promised through the Apostle Paul in Romans chapter 11, where Israel rejected everything, and God will strip branches from the tree rooted in Abraham and graft in the Gentiles.
