What is the most important part of the whole Old Testament?

The Abrahamic Covenant is the most important part of the whole Old Testament. It is the benchmark of everything believers rest on by faith and faith alone. In Genesis 12, God promised Abram a great nation, material and spiritual blessing, blessing to those who bless him, cursing to those who curse him, and blessing to all families of the earth.

Les explains that because Paul uses Abraham as the epitome of faith, he goes back to Genesis 12 to examine the Abrahamic Covenant. He notes that he repeats many comments on purpose. That covenant, he says, is the most important part of the whole Old Testament and the benchmark of everything on which you and I rest by faith and faith alone. In Genesis 12, the Lord had told Abram to leave his country, kindred, and father's house for a land God would show him. God then promised to make of Abram a great nation, Israel; to bless him materially and spiritually; to make his name great; to bless those who bless him and curse those who curse him; and to bless all families of the earth in him. Les then points further back to Genesis 3, saying he is coming from the top down instead of from the bottom up.
