Through whom does God promise a Redeemer in Genesis 3?

In Genesis 3, God promises a Redeemer through the woman. The promise in verse 15 speaks of enmity between Satan and the woman, and between his seed and her seed. That seed of the woman is Christ, who would bruise Satan's head at the cross.

Les explains that Genesis 3 records God's covenant with Adam after the fall. The covenant contains the curse's ramifications, but at its center is the promise of a Redeemer. In verse 15, God puts enmity between Satan and the woman, and between Satan's seed and her seed. The seed of the woman is Christ, and there would be a running battle between Satan and Christ. The seed of the woman would bruise Satan's head, which happened at the cross, while Satan would bruise his heel, accomplished through Christ's suffering at Calvary. Les further connects this promise to the Abrahamic covenant: from Genesis 3 God promises a Redeemer through the woman, and the Abrahamic covenant builds on that, showing the seed of the woman would come through Abraham and his offspring.

Genesis 3:15

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
