Is God able to keep us and empower us to live a life that pleases Him?

Yes. God is able to keep us and to empower us to live a life that is pleasing to Him. The life we now live in the flesh is lived by the faithfulness of the One who bought us, and He is faithful; He will never let us down.

Les explains that the believer is crucified with Christ: when Christ died, that is when we died. Yet we live physically, and the life we now live in the flesh is lived by the faithfulness of the One who bought us. Christ lives in us, and He is faithful; He will never let us down. Paul goes on to say it is by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Les contrasts how Peter in Acts chapter 2 said, “You killed the Messiah,” while Paul says, “He died for you.” The life we now live in the flesh, then, is lived by God’s faithfulness, because God is able to keep us, to empower us, to live a life that is pleasing, and we show that He loved us and gave Himself for us. This is what we have to constantly remember.

Galatians 2:20

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
