When does God give us the power to live the Christian life?
God gives the power to live the Christian life when we believe the finished work, not before. Salvation comes first; then He supplies the power to live it. Belief precedes the enabling, so no one can live the Christian life until they are saved.
Les teaches that God has already done everything needed—taking care of old Adam, giving a new divine nature, setting our feet on a rock—and it was all accomplished when He said 'it's finished,' so we cannot add anything to it. The finished work is applied to those who believe, not a simple acknowledgment but a genuine heart condition. When we believe it, then God gives us the power again to live it. Many say they will get saved when they can live it, but as Les points out, you cannot live it until you are saved.
