Les Feldick Bible Study

What is the Gospel according to Les?

The Gospel is believing in the finished work of Christ. When the old Adam is put to death because he was a lawbreaker, and a person becomes a believer in that finished work, salvation brings new life: the believer becomes a new creation, alive with eternal life.

Les explains that without the Law the old nature was dead and inoperative, but the Law exercised it. When the commandment came—“Thou shalt not covet”—old Adam woke up in Saul and said, “That’s me, I’m a coveter,” and he died. Les ties that death of old Adam to salvation: when old Adam is put to death as a lawbreaker and one believes in the finished work of Christ, which is the Gospel, the result is a new creation, alive with eternal life. Les notes Paul constantly refers to this, and Peter’s epistles talk about it. Then in Galatians 2:20 Paul gives his personal testimony, saying he is crucified with Christ.
