Les Feldick Bible Study

What is salvation according to this teaching?

Salvation is the death of the old Adam, who was a Lawbreaker, and the birth of new life. It occurs when a person becomes a believer in the finished work of Christ, which is the Gospel. The result is a new creation, alive with eternal life.

Les explains that salvation is the death of the old Adam, who was a Lawbreaker, and the birth of new life. He illustrates this from verse 9: without the Law the old nature was dead and inoperative, but when the commandment came—'Thou shalt not covet'—old Adam woke up and said, 'Hey, that's me, I'm a coveter,' and then he died. Les teaches that when our old Adam is put to death and we become a believer in the finished work of the Christ, which is the Gospel, then we are a new creation, we are alive, we have eternal life—'the whole nine yards.' He notes that Paul constantly refers to this, and as Peter said in all his epistles, this is all he talks about.

Romans 7:9

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
