Why is boasting excluded from salvation?

Boasting is excluded from salvation because the law of faith excludes it. The law of faith is simply, “Believe the Gospel.” Salvation verses say nothing about what we can do except believe, so no one can brag or boast. God justifies the one who believes, not the one who keeps commandments or performs works.

Les explains that in this passage the question is, “So where’s boasting?” Who can brag? Who can boast? He answers that boasting is excluded because the Law of Faith excludes it, and the Law of Faith is, Believe the Gospel. He emphasizes his list of salvation verses: not one says anything about what we can do, except believe. The passage says Christ is just and the justifier of him who believeth, not of him who keeps the commandments. Since righteousness and remission of sins come through faith in the blood of Christ and His finished work, human merit has no ground for boasting.

Romans 3:27

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Why is there no room for boasting in salvation according to Romans 3:27?

Boasting is completely excluded from salvation because salvation is not by works; if Abraham had been saved by works he could have boasted and would still be boasting forever.
