Do any salvation verses say we must do something besides believe?

No. In the salvation verses considered, not one says anything about what we can do except believe. The text states He is the justifier of him who believes, and the Law of Faith is simply, “Believe the Gospel.” Works, commandments, and baptism are not what the verse says; faith in the blood of Christ is the issue.

Les explains that he has a list of salvation verses, and all he wants people to realize is that not a one of those verses says anything about what we can do, except believe. In the passage under discussion, it does not say God justifies the person who repents and is baptized, or who does this or that, or who keeps the commandments. Instead, it says He will be the justifier of him who believeth. Boasting is excluded because the Law of Faith excludes it, and the Law of Faith is “Believe the Gospel.” The surrounding context ties this to faith in the blood of Christ, where life and eternal life are found, and to Christ’s finished work and righteousness for the remission of sins.
