Why is boasting excluded in salvation?

Boasting is excluded because salvation is governed by the law of faith: believe the gospel. Justification is for the one who believes, not for those who keep commandments or do things to earn it. Since the salvation verses require nothing except believing, no one has grounds to brag or boast.

Les explains that the question "where's boasting?" is answered by the Law of Faith. Boasting is excluded because the Law of Faith excludes it, and that law is simply "Believe the Gospel." The passage declares Christ as the justifier of the one who believeth, not of the person who keeps commandments or does this or that. Les also points to his list of salvation verses, noting that not one of them says anything about what we can do, except believe. So salvation leaves no room for bragging or boasting.

Romans 3:27

Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Why is there no room for boasting in salvation according to Romans 3:27?

Boasting is completely excluded from salvation because salvation is not by works; if Abraham had been saved by works he could have boasted and would still be boasting forever.
