What pressure was Paul under in Galatians 2?

In Galatians chapter 2, Paul was under pressure to give up the Gospel of Grace and add law keeping and circumcision. He refused to yield, not for an hour, so that the truth of the Gospel—Paul's Gospel—might continue with the believers.

Les teaches that Paul was under pressure to abandon the Gospel of Grace by adding law keeping and circumcision. But Paul says they gave place to that pressure 'no, not for an hour'—today we might say not for a minute—so that the truth of the Gospel, that is Paul's Gospel, might continue with you. Les then asks what would have happened if Paul had given up.

Galatians 2:5

To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
