Who was Ananias that God spoke to in Acts 9?

Ananias was a believing Jew living in Damascus whom God spoke to in Acts 9. While Saul was outside the city, God worked on both ends, directing Ananias to go to the street called Straight and inquire at the house of Judas for Saul, who was praying and had seen Ananias in a vision.

Les explains that after Saul’s experience on the road to Damascus, God always works both ends to the middle. While He was working on Old Saul outside the city, He was also working on Ananias in the city. Les identifies Ananias as a believing Jew somewhere in the city of Damascus. God told him in Acts chapter 9, verse 11, to arise, go into the street called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, for behold he prayeth. Saul had also seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in.
