Who was Ananias in Acts chapter 9?

Ananias was a devout man according to the Law and a believing Jew. He had heard how much evil Saul had done to the saints at Jerusalem, yet the Lord told him Saul was coming to his house. Ananias answered the Lord, acknowledging Saul's reputation.

Les explains that Ananias is introduced as a devout man according to the Law, as Acts chapter 22 describes. But Ananias is a believing Jew, and he has heard about Saul. The Lord tells Ananias that Saul is coming to his house, and Ananias responds in Acts 9:13, "Lord, I have heard by many of this man, and how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem."
