Why can't people who pervert the gospel see what the verses say?
They cannot see what the verses say because they are under the condemnation of being accursed for perverting the Gospel. This inability accompanies the apostasy that has crept into the Church, which people have been programmed to accept and simply roll with rather than resist.
Les explains that a man in 1971 told J. Vernon McGee and others that he could never envision the Church’s apostasy at that time; he thought it would not happen short of the tribulation. Les notes that was over twenty years ago and asks what that man would think today, saying they could not handle it. He says we have been programmed to see all this creeping in and just sort of roll with it. Because we are in such an alarming state of apostasy, these people cannot see what the verses say; they are under the condemnation of being accursed for perverting the Gospel.
