What changed in God's plan when Saul met Jesus on the Damascus road?
When Saul met the Lord, God changed His modus operandi: Saul became a chosen vessel to bear the Lord's name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. God also revealed that Saul would suffer great things for His name's sake.
Les explains that Saul had been operating with Israel's religious leaders, using their clout with Rome to seek extradition of Jews in Damascus who had followed Jesus of Nazareth, whom they imprisoned and put to death. But when Saul of Tarsus met the Lord on the road to Damascus, Les says, there was a tremendous change in the modus operandi of the Sovereign God. The Lord called Saul a chosen vessel to bear His name before the Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel, and promised to show him how great things he must suffer for His name's sake.
