Where was the ancient city of Ephesus located?
The ancient city of Ephesus was located on the western end of what is today Turkey, near the Aegean Sea. It was there that the letter to the Ephesians was written, and it was associated with the churches in that area.
Les explains that as you turn the corner of the Mediterranean Sea and go under the underbelly of what is today Turkey, down through the middle of it was Galatia. On the western end of Turkey, he says, you have the ancient city of Ephesus, to whom the letter of the Ephesians was written, and the churches in that area. He also refers to the Aegean Sea in that context.
