Did Paul expect his converts to worship him?

No. The Apostle Paul never expected worship from any of his converts, for he was not God. He remained as human as anyone else, and God did not permit him to repeat the glory he had seen and heard, lest people fall down and worship him instead of God.

Les explains that if Paul could have shared what he had seen and heard in glory, the human race would have worshiped him, and even the Roman world would have fallen down before him. But Paul never expected worship from any of his converts because he was not God and was just as human as anyone else. God therefore could not permit him to repeat those things, putting a stigma on him so he could not tell what he had seen and heard. This fits the pattern of God keeping certain things hidden because He knows the human heart's tendency to worship men or objects. Even during intense suffering, Paul was sustained by what he saw and heard in glory.
