Is Galatians 2 the same event as Acts 15?

Yes. Galatians chapter 2 describes the Jerusalem council of about A.D. 51, which is a parallel chapter with Acts 15. Paul was called up to Jerusalem, where he was pressured to back away from his apostleship and embrace Judaism and circumcision along with belief in Christ.

Les explains that Galatians chapter 2, verse 5, refers to the great Jerusalem council of A.D. about 51. He notes this council is a parallel chapter with Acts 15. At this council, Paul was called up to Jerusalem, and they were coming down on him to back away from all the claims of his apostleship and embrace Judaism and circumcision, along with a belief in Christ. Les also connects this to Paul's defense of his apostleship in Galatians 1:11-12, where Paul certifies that the gospel he preached was not after man, but he received it by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Galatians 2:1

Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.

Acts 15:1

And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
