What is the relationship between Acts 15 and Galatians 2?

Acts 15 is a direct parallel to Galatians 2; they describe the same set of events, chapter for chapter almost identical. Acts 15 records the Jerusalem controversy over circumcision and law, which Paul reports in his own hand in Galatians 2, where Judaizers insisted Gentile believers be circumcised to be saved.

Les explains that Acts 15 and Galatians 2 are a direct parallel, “chapter for chapter almost identical,” and that Acts 15 is the same set of events Paul reports in his own hand in Galatians 2. He says Paul was bringing the gospel of the grace of God while up against Judaizers still under the law. In Acts 15:1, men from Judea told the Gentile believers at Antioch that unless they were circumcised after the manner of Moses, they could not be saved. The context notes this occurred in the same timeframe, about 52 AD, roughly 22–23 years after Pentecost, and that Jewish believers at Jerusalem were still so saturated with the law that they tried to bring Gentile believers under it.
