When did Paul write 2 Corinthians compared to 1 Corinthians?

Paul wrote 2 Corinthians within a year after 1 Corinthians. The exact amount of time is unknown, but it was sometime less than a year later. In 1 Corinthians he dealt with a church full of problems; in 2 Corinthians he encourages and exhorts them. This second letter reflects a changed attitude from condemnation to encouragement.

Les teaches that after writing 1 Corinthians, where Paul had to address a church full of problems almost reluctantly, he wrote 2 Corinthians within a year—sometime within a year later, though the exact time is unknown. The second letter shows a different attitude: Paul no longer condemns them but encourages, exhorts, and boasts about them to the churches in Achaia and Macedonia. Les notes that chapters 8 and 9 then address Christian grace-age giving.
