Has human nature changed since Bible times, or do we face the same opposition today?
Human nature has not changed one iota since Bible times. The same opposition Jesus faced—murmuring, accusations of deception, claims He had a demon, and scornful doubt—continues today. Paul and believers still confront that same resistance, because the human heart remains unchanged despite the passing of two thousand years.
Les teaches that human nature has not changed one iota; the fact that events occurred 2,000 years ago does not mean it has changed. The Lord faced the same opposition the Apostle Paul and believers face yet today. In John 7, when Jesus went up to the feast, the Jews sought Him and there was much murmuring; some said He was a good man, while others said He deceiveth the people. Though He was truth personified, they accused Him of deception. In John 8:52, they told Him He had a demon, argued about Abraham and the prophets, and asked whom He made Himself. By verse 57 they doubted everything He said, and their words carried scorn.
