Is forgiveness for lost people already accomplished?
The work of the cross has made reconciliation possible for all people. God has already paid it all, and forgiveness for lost man is already accomplished. The message believers carry is that everything needed for reconciliation has been done on their behalf.
Les explains that so far as the reconciliation of lost man and forgiveness are concerned, it is already accomplished. He points to the verse where God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them. God has committed to believers the word of reconciliation, so we are to tell a lost world that everything has already been done on their behalf. Les warns against adding human works, saying Jesus paid it all and it would be a waste to think otherwise.
