Les Feldick Bible Study

What was man's relationship with God like in the Garden before the separation?

In the Garden, God created man in His own image and had fellowship with him. The relationship was superb: God could walk with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day, and it was sweet fellowship, with everything fine and no separation between them.

Les explains that reconciliation presupposes a prior separation. He illustrates this with marriage: if a couple has never separated, there is no need for reconciliation, but if they have drifted apart, they become candidates for it. The same principle applies spiritually with man and God. Before that separation, God created man in His own image, had fellowship with him in the Garden, and everything was super. God could walk with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day, and it was sweet fellowship, everything fine.

Genesis 1:27

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 3:8

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
