Is it wrong to study Jesus' earthly ministry?

It is not wrong to study Jesus' earthly ministry, and its value should not be dismissed. Yet it is not the ultimate focus for believers. The priority is what follows His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead. That is where it is at for us.

Les teaches that there is nothing wrong with studying Christ's earthly ministry; he tells listeners not to misunderstand him. However, he stresses that Christ's earthly ministry is not where it is at for us. The believer's focus is what follows His death, burial, and resurrection from the dead. He also notes that Saul of Tarsus knew Christ in the flesh and knew what was going on in Israel and Galilee, but after the Damascus road confrontation he could say, "Henceforth we know Him no more."

2 Corinthians 5:16

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
