What is the dispensation of the grace of God in Ephesians 3:2, and to whom did it go?

The dispensation of the grace of God is the administration of God’s grace committed to Paul, not to the Law. In Ephesians 3:2 Paul says it was given to him, and it did not stop there: it went to you Gentiles. Thus this grace-dispensation was directed specifically to the Gentiles.

Les teaches that Ephesians 3:1–2 follows Paul’s argument in Ephesians 2, where salvation is by grace through faith, not of ourselves. Paul identifies himself as the prisoner of Jesus Christ for the Gentiles, and then speaks of “the dispensation of the grace of God, which is given me.” But Les emphasizes that it did not stop with Paul; the next question is where it went, and the answer is “to you Gentiles.” This fits the concept that God called Paul as the Apostle of the Gentiles and inspired him to write the biggest part of the New Testament. Les also notes that the four Gospels were Christ under the Law, whereas believers are not under Law but under Grace.
