Why did God send the Messiah to Israel?

God sent the Messiah to Israel so that Israel could take the knowledge of Jehovah God to the pagan Gentiles. Israel had been given the covenant promises, the law, and the priesthood, and was to be a nation expressing God's mind. However, before reaching the Gentiles, they rejected and crucified their Messiah.

Les explains that after the call of Abraham in Genesis 12, God pulled the nation of Israel out of the river of humanity and gave them covenant promises, the law, the priesthood, and the civil law. They were to be a nation that had the very mind of God expressed in their national behavior and understanding of the Spirit. God then sent the Messiah with the intention that Israel could take the knowledge of Jehovah God to the pagan Gentiles. But before they got that far, they rejected everything and crucified their Messiah.
