What opposition did Paul face besides his physical sufferings?

Besides physical sufferings, Paul faced constant opposition from Jewish people from Jerusalem who thought he was a false teacher and imposter. He continually had to defend his Apostleship against their accusations. This opposition accompanied his bodily hardships, yet the love of Christ kept driving him forward.

Les explains that Paul, along with all his physical sufferings, had to constantly defend his Apostleship. He had to stand up against the Jewish people from Jerusalem, who thought he was a false teacher and an imposter. In spite of all this opposition, only one thing kept driving him on: the love of Christ. Les notes that Paul's background as a religious zealot under Judaism set him up for this, because his whole life had been wrapped up in Judaism and his work as a Pharisee. God totally transformed and saved him by grace, yet that personality kept going, and now he turned all that energy not to defeat the name of Christ but out of love for Him.

2 Corinthians 5:14
