Why did the high priest have to present the blood every year in the tabernacle?

In the tabernacle, the high priest presented the blood annually because blood was the only means that opened man's way to approach God. The law required almost all things to be purged by blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission or forgiveness. No other approach to God exists apart from the blood-sprinkled way.

Les explains that the high priest had to present the blood every year because it was the only thing that opened the way for man to approach God. There is no other way and no approach to God other than the blood-sprinkled way. He points to Hebrews 9:22, where almost all things under the law are purged by blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission or forgiveness. Les notes this is an absolute that cannot be compromised or detoured. He also observes that liberal circles and some major denominations have removed hymns referencing the blood because they dislike the blood-bought way of salvation, yet Scripture still says that without faith we cannot please Him and without the shedding of blood we cannot please Him.
