What is the holy place?

The holy place is the very presence of God at the mercy seat of God. In the greater, more perfect heavenly tabernacle not made with hands, not of this creation, He entered once by His own blood, obtaining eternal redemption for us.

Les explains that the holy place is the very presence of God at the mercy seat of God. The tabernacle built at Sinai was patterned after the floor plan up in glory, but this greater, more perfect tabernacle was not made by Jewish craftsmen and was untouched by human hands—not of this building, meaning not of this creation, because it is in heaven. Israel's high priest entered yearly with the blood of goats and calves, but He entered once by His own blood, presented it at the mercy seat, and obtained eternal redemption. Les notes that the word 'once' is a key word through Hebrews.

Hebrews 9:12

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
