How are God's servants today like the Levites in their financial support?

God's servants today resemble the Levites in that they do not have an inheritance and depend on offerings, tithes, and gifts from believer friends. The Levites were entitled to what came in from all the other tribes, and today's servants likewise rely on the financial support of their believer friends.

Les explains that Levi was left out of the twelve tribes stationed around the tabernacle because Levi was the priestly tribe. Even when Israel entered the Promised Land, Levi received no inheritance like the other tribes; they had only a central area around Jerusalem for the priests to live. Instead, they were entitled to what came in from all the other tribes. Les applies this to God's servants today: they too pretty much depend on the offerings, tithes, and gifts of their believer friends.
