Who provided the gold, silver, clothing, and linen for the tabernacle?
The Israelites provided the gold, silver, beautiful clothing, and linen cloth for the tabernacle. They had obtained these materials when they spoiled Egypt, and the gathered supplies were then put together by craftsmen so the tabernacle could be erected at Sinai.
Les teaches that this occurred during the first 12-month period after Israel left Egypt, while they were gathered around Sinai. In the previous programs, the material—the gold, the silver, the beautiful clothing, the cloth of linen, and so forth—had been brought in by the people, by the Israelites. They had gotten it when they spoiled Egypt. Now all of it had been put together by craftsmen, and the tabernacle was ready to be erected.
