Where is the Ark of the Covenant according to Revelation 11?

Revelation 11:19 places the Ark of the Covenant in heaven. When God’s temple in heaven is opened, the Ark of His Testament—also called the Covenant—is seen there, accompanied by lightnings, voices, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail. That is the location Scripture gives during the Tribulation events.

Les explains that the question arises because the Ark has been gone since the Babylonian captivity and Nebuchadnezzar’s invasion, yet nothing indicates the Babylonians took it with them. Turning to Revelation 11, he reads verses 18–19, where the temple of God is opened in heaven, and the Ark of His Testament, or Covenant, is seen in heaven, along with lightnings, voices, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail. He notes these are events taking place during the Tribulation. He also mentions that some claim they know where the Ark is, and that Israel will frantically look for it when they rebuild the temple.

Revelation 11:19

And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
