why is society in the shape it's in today?

Les teaches that society today is in the shape it's in because people have pushed God out of their thinking, out of schools, and out of the home, and then they decry the things that are going on. He says this is all that is wrong. He illustrates the underlying human nature with a child who pulls the wings off a butterfly, needing something beneath him to vent his feelings on because he cannot compete against those above him. This is exactly how the whole human makeup operates until the power of a sovereign God comes into that life. Les warns that these human nature traits will take off down the line generation after generation, citing alcoholism as an example. He stresses that Scripture said this 1,500 years before Christ, so it is not a new discovery, even though modern medical people may think they have just realized these things.
