What did the dragon do when he was cast to the earth?

When the dragon—identified in Scripture as Satan—was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the man-child, and that woman is the nation of Israel. He turned his attention on her, while the escaping remnant of Jews fled to a wilderness place where the triune God protects and feeds them.

Les explains that the dragon in Scripture always refers to Satan, who had been cast out of heaven earlier in Revelation 12. When the old dragon saw that he was cast into the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the man-child, and the woman is the nation of Israel. This fits the midpoint of the Tribulation, when the last three and a half years become the most awful time in human history. The escaping remnant of Jews, a cross-section of society, will go to their place in the wilderness, where the triune God protects and feeds them.

Revelation 12:13

And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
