Will the temple in Jerusalem be rebuilt, and what is the current expectation among Jews?

Yes, the temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt and back on the scene. The current expectation is that every Jew in the world is waiting for the temple to be rebuilt. The Antichrist will later enter and defile it, prompting Judea to flee.

Les teaches from Matthew 24 that Jesus is speaking alone with the twelve about the signs of His coming and what Israel can look for at Messiah's appearance. In verse 15 Jesus cites the abomination of desolation spoken by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place. Les explains that Daniel places this in the middle of the seven-year week. The Antichrist will move down into Jerusalem, probably from Western Europe, enter the temple, and defile it, likely as Antiochus the Syrian did in the Old Testament, perhaps by offering a hog on the altar. Les says the temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt and back on the scene, and that if you watch the news, every Jew in the world is waiting for the temple to be rebuilt. According to Daniel, the Antichrist will then turn on the children of Israel and bring the awful last three-and-a-half years of the Tribulation. When that defilement happens, Jesus tells those in Judea to flee into the mountains, and those on the housetop not to come down to take anything out.
