Why does Les tie Matthew 24 and Revelation 12 together?
Matthew 24 and Revelation 12 are tied together because they use the same identical words and describe a like circumstance: Jews in the last days, during the last half of the tribulation, will flee Jerusalem to a place God prepares for them in the mountains southeast of Jerusalem.
Les explains that he jumps back to Revelation because Revelation 12:6 uses the same identical words as Matthew 24. He ties them together because it will be a like circumstance: a group of Jews in the last days, or the last half of the tribulation, will flee from Jerusalem to a place God leads them out in the mountains. He suggests it may be Moab, possibly the city of Petra, someplace in the mountains southeast of Jerusalem. In Revelation 12:6, the woman, Israel, fled into the wilderness where she has a place prepared of God, and the Godhead will feed her there 1,260 days. After that, he returns to Matthew 24 and verse 15.
And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
