What does Exodus 16:23 call the seventh day?

Exodus 16:23 calls the seventh day the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the Lord, a day of rest. The verse states tomorrow is the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the Lord, and this Sabbath was instituted before the law was given.

Les explains that in Exodus 16, before the law is given in chapter 20, God institutes a commandment that on the sixth day Israel shall gather a double portion of manna, because He is going to institute the Sabbath even before He gives the law. In verse 23, the seventh day is called the rest of the holy Sabbath unto the Lord. Les also connects this to Genesis chapter 1, where God brought everything onto the scene in six days and rested on the seventh, setting up six days of labor and one day of rest, not because He was tired but for man's own good, showing that one day out of seven is needed for rest.

Exodus 16:23

And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning.
