Who has been made to drink of the one Spirit?

All believers, regardless of ethnic background or social status—whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free—have been made to drink of the one Spirit. This occurs when the Holy Spirit baptizes them into the body of Christ by faith in the gospel of grace.

Les explains that the question is answered in the context of the body of Christ. Whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free, all who believe have been made to partake of the one Spirit. He connects this to the Holy Spirit baptizing or placing believers into the body of Christ when they believe Paul's message of Christ's death, burial, and resurrection by faith alone, without the law. Les also notes that he believes the body of Christ began when the gospel went out to Jew and Gentile, as at Antioch where believers were first called Christians, rather than at Pentecost, which was a Jewish holiday with a Jewish message. Thus, every genuine believer in the body of Christ has been made to drink of that one Spirit.
